Long stay visa - The Long stay student visa for France is for students who intend to study in France for more than three months and is valid for one year. When certified by OFII, a long-stay visa in France also serves as a residency permit (VLS-TS) (French Office for Immigration and Integration). The Campus France application is required to obtain a long-stay visa in France.

To apply for a long-stay visa, students must first register an account on the Campus France website. After creating an account, students must fill out the France Student Visa application form with information such as academic records, language skills, CV, and SOP.
Campus France will assess the application and assign an appointment date once it has been received. Paying the visa fees to Campus France is the final step before the interview.
The interview will take place in person, and the student must attend. The Campus France adviser conducts the interview. For verification, you must also bring the original documents and photocopies.

After the academic interview, go to the "France Visas" website and apply for the visa online. You will need to establish an account there in order to proceed with the process. Campus France will make an appointment with VFS for you to present your originals together with your passport. It is vital to attend the VFS because biometrics will also be submitted there.
The last stage in the application process is to pick up your visa from the VFS and validate your student status in France within three months of arrival if you have filed for OFII.

The part-time work permit in France does not require a separate work permit. International students with a long-stay visa in France can work up to 20 hours per week during their academic terms. Students are permitted to work part-time jobs in France as long as their Long stay student visa is valid.
